Another HAPPY WundaBar Pilates client!! This is Vicki getting ready for her "Snow Bunny" birthday party.

Now that is a Birthday Suit if we've ever seen one! Vicki has been attending classes at WundaBar Pilates in Claremont, CA since summer 2011.

I feel stronger, more toned and it is certainly not your Mama's Pilates, because I took that route once. Now, after just 15 sessions ... I have learned so much about my body.

As a middle-aged woman, abs are one of my greatest challenges. For the first time ever, I can feel those deep abdominals engaging; my core is really working correctly...Their approach is not a boot camp tone, suck in your stomach or hold those abs in, instead they remind us, "your abs are engaged" or "the corset is working"...These phrases are empowering and encouraging because it lets me know what I am working, I am on track, and I can accomplish the task.

Each session is an opportunity to challenge my body. I am learning to trust my abilities and see myself accomplish more each session. "Last year I had a skiing accident resulting in a torn meniscus and LCL in my right knee. After months of physical therapy, I regained some mobility back but was still unable to bend my knee past ninety degrees, do any lateral movements, or weighted/resistance lunges.

Thanks to 6 months of WundaBar Pilates workouts I have regained almost all flexibility, mobility, and strength back!!! My knee is STRONGER now thanks to all those leg shaking workouts! The instructors are always making modifications for those who have areas of weakness or for those who want a challenge. WundaBar has not only provided me with great weekly workouts but has helped rehabilitate my knee. I am stronger and looking forward to hitting the slopes and tennis court this spring!!! I thought I was in pretty good shape but my mid to lower back was troubling me on a daily basis. My doctor said it was arthritis...ugh. I thought I knew what Pilates was from so many mat classes I had taken. Wrong, wrong, wrong. This is THE best workout ever and my core muscles are "ON". My back is stronger, I stand up straighter, I feel taller and I look leaner. I have lost inches! My chiropractor sees a difference in how my muscles and bones are re-balancing and my massage therapist says there is visible muscle definition now. And that is only after 2 months --I can't wait til 6!
