Since mid-February, I’ve been utilizing Pilates Physical Therapy to strengthen my recurring L4/L5, L5/S1 lower back injury.  My injury has derailed me from 4 different half marathons but Pilates has been instrumental in helping me to begin to develop some of the core strength I need to be as active as I want to be.

Now that my physical therapist has cleared me to take outside classes, I’ve decided to work with WundaBar Pilates on the next phase of my rehabilitation.

WundaBar Pilates has allowed me to take 3-4 group reformer classes each week for the next 60 days in exchange for documenting my experience here through a series I’m calling WundaWednesdays.

VanessaPress_Shot.jpg"Vanessa Hudgens was spotted strolling through Studio City with her sister Stella today! The two pretty ladies were making their way into a pilates class.

They went to WundaBar Pliates to work up a sisterly sweat.

We love that they not only got to spend some quality family time together, but also got their blood pumping!"

WundaBar Pilates
12416 Ventura Blvd., Studio City
If you’re looking for something low-impact yet still challenging, then WundaBar Pilates is for you. This amazing Pilates workout uses the Wundaformer, a hybrid machine that combines the traditional reformer, wunda chair, jump board, and ballet barre — making this class unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

If you're looking to spice up your standard pilates routine, Wundabar is the place for you. While getting the same benefits that you would from a regular pilates class, Wundabar gives you a sleek and sculpted look. You can strengthen your core without heavy impacts on your joints. The philosophy of the class is to complete your workout with small and controlled movements. Although Wundabar is new to Claremont, classes are often booked days in advance because of its popularity. Located conveniently in the village between N. Indian Hill Blvd and 2nd street, students can easily walk or bike to the studio.

The Real Deal:

We were so excited to see that a new pilates studio had opened in Studio City.  WundaBar is unlike any pilates class you have seen. The WundaFormer is a hybrid of a reformer, wunda chair, jump board, and ballet bar!  Classes are small and intimate, perfect for the newbie or if you need a little extra attention.  The WundaBar ToolBox class is free and is required for all first time students prior to taking a WundaBar Workout.  It will help acclimate you to the machine, their specialized breathing technique and form.  Classes are 50 minutes in length, but feel like 20.  We have tried out a few different instructors and love them all.  This is one of our new favorite studios and we hope you try it out.
